Gran Canaria’s signature urban beach stretches for about 3 km with fine golden sand and an average width of roughly 50 m. Sheltered by the natural reef known as ‘La Barra’, the water is usually calm and ideal for swimming and snorkelling. A seafront promenade runs the length of the beach, with accessible ramps, lifeguards, showers and sunbed rentals. Occupancy is high year‑round, especially on weekends and at sunset, when surfers, families and locals gather. Las Canteras has earned Blue Flag status in several seasons and offers designated accessible areas for reduced‑mobility visitors. It is not a nudist beach.
